This Saturday night is immediately a big test for the system and that is not going well. Because so many people request their QR code in the app, the system is overloaded at times, Dutch media report.
In a response to local broadcaster NH Nieuws, the Dutch Ministry of Health denies that the app is overloaded because there is no internet connection to pick up your corona pass. “Only when collecting a vaccination and if the app has not been opened for a long time, a connection is needed to generate the QR code. It is now quite busy with people who want to request a code, so it can take a while.”
Be that as it may, long queues can arise, such as in Nijmegen.
