First COVID-19 vaccination activity in East Suriname

Basja van Poeloegoedoe, Djaki Baja, receives his first shot against the COVID-19 virus.

The Medical Mission held the first vaccination activity in the East Suriname region, where 27 people were vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. This took place on 28 July 2021 at the outpatient clinic of Stoelmanseiland.

Prior to the vaccination activity, there was a COVID-19 vaccination awareness in the surrounding areas. A total of 27 people have registered for the administration of this vaccine, including a Basja van Poeloegoedoe, Djaki Baja. These persons have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine ‘Sinopharm’.

The Medical Mission is pleased with this turnout, as the willingness among the community along the border of Suriname is still low. She hopes that with this start, the community will also make an informed and informed decision to vaccinate against the COVID-19 virus.
