A corona infection has been diagnosed for the first time on Schiermonnikoog. It is a resident of the island. A GP established the infection, the GGD has started with source and contact investigation.
Schiermonnikoog was the last municipality in the Netherlands to be completely corona-free, writes RTV North. “Unfortunately one islander has tested positive”, says Mayor Ineke van Gent. “We wish our resident and the family much strength and a speedy recovery. I hope that the consequences and further infections will be very limited.”
The mayor emphasizes the importance of complying with the national measures. “Of course these also apply to Schiermonnikoog. So keep your distance, avoid crowds and stay at home in case of complaints.”
