SANA’A, September 02, 2024 Saba) – Today, the first consultative meeting for the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research with the heads of public and private higher education institutions was held in Sana’a under the slogan “A grace for the worlds”.

At the meeting, Minister of Education, Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi pointed out that the first meeting with the heads of educational institutions coincided with the most honorable, greatest and holiest occasion for the Islamic nation, the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday.

He stressed the importance of making this occasion the beginning of the work of the Ministry, pointing out that everyone has a religious and moral responsibility to fully fulfill their duties and participate in the commemoration of the birth of mercy and the illuminating lamp for humanity.

Minister Al-Saadi explained that the Most Honorable Prophet, may God honor him, bears the responsibility of leading, educating and guiding the nation, and this is part of the core of the work of academics and educators, indicating that the work in the next stage will be based on achieving God’s satisfaction and serving the student, society and the country, in accordance with the instructions of the Qur’an.

He said: “Your mission today is to educate and guide people and to raise the scientific, cultural and moral level of students at all levels.”

This meeting was considered as the inauguration of activities to commemorate the Prophet’s birthday in universities and institutions affiliated to the Ministry and called upon academics and knowledge holders to embody the conduct of the Holy Prophet in their practical reality.

He pointed out the agendas pursued by enemies and hypocrites by targeting economic, agricultural and educational interests at all levels by developing programs, activities and curricula that serve their interests rather than the interests of the country.

Minister Al-Saadi highlighted the role of academics and heads of educational institutions in commemorating the birth of the Prophet and in promoting the spirit of faith, jihad, humanity, values and morals that the Prophet represented in society, universities and curricula, implementing what he commanded and avoiding what he prohibited.

He stressed that no cultural, intellectual and economic development at all levels can be achieved without complete independence in decision-making and the development of programs and plans in line with the interests of the country. He noted the Ministry’s readiness to develop solutions to the problems and challenges facing public and private universities.

He stressed the importance of concerted efforts and team spirit to improve the educational process, establish mechanisms and minimum scientific standards appropriate to the current situation, environment and Yemeni circumstances, and build on what has been done in the field of modernization and development at all levels.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, the heads of the ministry, its affiliated agencies and institutions, as well as the heads of public and private universities, the President of Saada University, Dr. Abdul Rahim Al-Hamran, and the President of Al-Razi University, Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, confirming that the universities will stand alongside the current leadership in implementing the government’s policies of change and construction in terms of higher education, scientific research and improving the educational process.

They pointed out that the Yemeni people have been celebrating the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday since the inception of Islam as an embodiment of faith identity, and that Yemenis have been the biggest supporters of the Holy Prophet since the migration, conquests and establishment of the Islamic State.
