[OSEN=장충, 길준영 기자] “Looking at the last game, I felt that the expression was great like a foreign coach.”
GS Caltex coach Sang-Hyun Cha talked about coach Marcello Abondanza, who will face off for the first time, in a pre-game interview with Heungkuk Life Insurance in the 6th round of the’Dodram 2022-2023 V-League’ held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 26th.
GS Caltex lost to Heungkuk Life on the 19th with a set score of 1-3. At the time, coach Abon Danza came to Korea, but he couldn’t direct the game because he didn’t get a visa. This is the first time coach Cha Sang-hyun meets Abondanza as the head coach of the opposing team.
Regarding coach Abondanza, coach Sang-hyun Cha said, “Looking at the last game, I felt that he was very expressive like a foreign coach. The biggest difference seems to be the serve strategy. He was good at short and long attacks. The rest doesn’t seem to have changed much.”
GS Caltex took a break for six days after the confrontation with Heungkuk Life Insurance. Coach Sang-hyun Cha said, “I gave the players a break for about two days. After that, we prepared for the game with a focus on team play.”
Regarding Heungkuk Life Insurance, which leads the league, coach Sang-Hyun Cha said, “Heungkuk Life Insurance has solid members, and there are players like Kim Yeon-kyung who can lead the team. Good grades say that. However, we have not lost easily against Heungkuk Life Insurance in recent years. I don’t know what the results will be today, but since volleyball is also a human sport, there will be gaps. I think the direction of the game will change depending on how we dig into that gap and catch the flow.” /[email protected]
