There is news from a confirmed Mpox patient in DKI Jakarta, a 26 year old male. Currently, he is in good condition although lesions are appearing on his skin.

“The condition is good, the lesions that appear are being treated,” said the Head of the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s Communication and Community Services Bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, to Health Liputan6.comTuesday (17/10/2023).

Apart from appearing smallpox lesions, Nadia also said that the patient experienced other symptoms such as fever and scabs.

Increase Vigilance

The DKI Jakarta Health Service reminded health workers to continue to increase awareness and early detection of patients suspected of having monkey pox or Mpox.

“So it is in our common interest that we can always carry out case finding, early detection and continuous vigilance,” said Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Dwi Oktavia, on Monday, October 16 2023.

He also hopes that health workers, including doctors, will have knowledge of diseases, including those that have just entered Indonesia, such as monkey pox.

“Doctors who are the first to find a patient must of course have the knowledge to always be alert to diseases that are still widely discovered and also anticipate new diseases,” continued Dwi.
