Transport association satisfied / starting credit for new users.
(BZ). The Regio-Verkehrsverbund Freiburg (RVF) and Freiburger Verkehrs AG (VAG) are taking stock of the airline tariff for local transport, which was introduced in October 2021: Already in October, more than 7000 journeys were made with the airline and to follow half a year more than 71,000, according to the statement. 2600 customers regularly use the tariff. “We are very satisfied with the demand in these first few months,” RVF Managing Director Dorothee Koch is quoted as saying.
So far, according to the announcement, the tariff has been used more for shorter distances. About 87 percent of the journeys take place within Freiburg, around ten percent are on routes between the city and the surrounding area, and three percent on distances across the network. But the airline is also interesting for journeys across tariff zone borders, it is said. A single trip from Wittnau (Alemannenstraße) to Paula-Modersohn-Platz in Freiburg costs 4.20 euros in the normal RVF tariff and 2.20 euros as the crow flies.
With the elimination of many corona measures and the lifting of the home office obligation, the RVF hopes that more passengers will use buses and trains again. The first 1,000 who register in the Fairtiq app will receive a five-euro starting credit for trips over the next two months. Users who recruit someone else will each receive a credit of three euros, as will the newly recruited person.
