The first Arriva night train departed from Groningen to Schiphol in the night from Friday to Saturday. The train departed at 1:48 am. The night train is intended to run at this time every week from now on. A single journey costs ten euros, wherever you board.
Stops are made in Assen, Zwolle, Lelystad, Almere and Amsterdam South. The train finally arrives at Schiphol at 3:50 am.
Since last year, European legislation has made it possible for carriers to offer connections at their own risk. Arriva is the first carrier in the Netherlands to make use of the new rules.
In September 2021, the regulator Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) indicated that it had no objections to Arriva night trains from Maastricht and Groningen to the Randstad. The night trains from Limburg started running in December last year.
