First app getting preview update

Windows 11 is far from being a final version and done. Interested users are already exploring the operating system through Microsoft’s preview program. There’s something new to see there from now on – but for now, only through the developer channel. Microsoft has adapted the first system apps to the new look of Windows 11 and also changed some functions. For example, if you want to create and edit screenshots, you will no longer need many applications for it in the future. Instead, Windows 11 combines a new snipping tool with the ability to crop screenshots and add notes and comments. As of now, you’ll also need a Snip & Sketch app for this.

To open a new Snipping tool, take a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the Win, Shift, and S key combinations. The apps menu then opens – in the new Windows 11 design if you will. Alternatively, you can define your own theme for the app. The same goes for the new pocket calculators, which you can also customize with new operating systems or individual themes. According to Microsoft, the application has been completely rewritten in the C# programming language and, in addition to a simple mode for simple calculations, provides the option to prepare complex equations and display them in graphs. Calculators for currencies and units are also available. Programmers love to have their own fashion for their own needs.

Custom email and calendar clients

Last but not least, Microsoft has provided updates to its email and calendar clients and adapted them to the Windows 11 design – among other things with rounded window corners and their respective Windows theme handles. More details and pictures for individual apps can be found on the official
