The first agreements were reached at the Corona summit: Apparently, the federal and state governments have agreed to extend the lockdown until March 28th. Vaccinations should also be possible in medical practices from the end of March.
During the consultations between Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Prime Ministers of the federal states on the future corona policy, initial agreements are emerging. A fundamental extension of the lockdown was expected. According to draft resolutions that became known before the deliberations, there should be numerous gradual opening options depending on the regional number of cases. Negotiations are still ongoing.
As the German press agency found out from participants in the federal-state switch, there could be a step-by-step opening of the retail sector nationally or regionally if the number of infections is below 50 per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days.

Vaccinations from general practitioners and specialists
Merkel and the country leaders are said to have already agreed on measures to accelerate the corona vaccination campaign in Germany. Before the consultations, Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz also spoke out in favor of loosening the corona restrictions for vaccinated people “quickly”. “Now that the first studies suggest that vaccinated people no longer transmit the virus diseases and therefore do not pose a risk of infection, the next thing we should discuss is which restrictions can be removed for this group,” said the SPD politician of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. “I can well imagine that the vaccination certificate can be used like a negative rapid test.” In this way, access to cultural institutions or restaurants can be made easier.
New task force for the procurement of rapid tests
In order to allow further easing, the federal government had also announced that it would offer free rapid tests to all citizens. However, there should be problems in obtaining these tests. To do this, all positive corona tests nationwide would have to be examined for more contagious virus variants.
