Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The IPO of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) was the most awaited several years ago. Especially when it took the floor on the stock exchange, many big names took part in the shares of Indonesian issuers in the field of technology.
One of the names that has existed since the beginning of GOTO is Boy Tohir. Conglomerate Garibaldi Thohir who also serves as President Commissioner of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) requested that GOTO management should focus on immediately improving the bottom line or bottom line.
“My advice as those who are more senior than those startups, the main thing is that now you have to think about business, go back to business,” said Boy at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (26/1), when asked about his suggestion for GOTO.
The man who is familiarly called Boy Thohir continued, in running a GOTO business it must be done efficiently so that it can provide benefits.
According to him, currently technology companies must return to the purpose of the business they were created, which is to have good fundamentals. So, it can expand with its own cash flow, without having to depend on investors.
In fact, GOTO should not focus on growth and market share first before improving its fundamentals. “But my advice really has to be growth, but the fundamentals have to be good,” he added.
Boy added that he has no plans to add new investments to technology companies after GOTO.
