Firework Almost Hits Hashtag United Player

A football match between Concord Rangers and Hashtag United had to be abandoned after a player was nearly hit by a firework. Fireworks landed on a pitch, creating a dangerous environment for all players, resulting in the abandonment. Fans who were checking out odds on https://askbettors.com/ were probably disappointed, but the safety of the players comes first.

Matas Skrna Was in Danger

Hashtag United posted some footage from the incident on their social media, where it can be seen how Matas Skrna was in danger as a firework landed near him. The explosion sparks were striking his legs, but the footballer narrowly avoided getting injured. Still, after the incident, he collapsed on the floor and started clutching his legs. Understandably, his teammates were concerned and surrounded him, and fans were just as concerned.

Hashtag United spoke about the incident on their Twitter page.

“We expect fireworks whenever @hashtagutd play but not like this! Our player, Matas Skrna, is luckily ok but this could have been bad! The game was abandoned at 2-0 up as the house where fireworks came from refused to stop. Two more landed near the pitch. Police have been notified. Stay safe.”

Two other fireworks landed close to the pitch, after which the pitch and the match taking place in Basildon, Essex at the Salmon Stadium had to be abandoned. The Hashtag United’s reserves were leading the match with 2-0. Police had been notified, according to the club.

Finding the Culprit

Spencer Owen, the YouTuber who founded Hashtag United, also took to Twitter to voice his opinion. “A few inches different and our lad could have been blinded,” he said. “Yet another reason to add to the list of reasons to sack off fireworks.”

Now, police are looking at videos of the incident and CCTV footage and hope that anyone who knows the responsible individuals will come forward.
