Zapping World Fifteen Interview Remi Bonfils: Captain in the French team?
The department of Gironde is currently in the grip of very large fires. In a press release, the president of the Union Bordeaux-Bègles Laurent Marti made a point of reacting to this situation, specifying that the equivalent of “20,800 hectares, the equivalent of 42,000 rugby pitches” burned down in ten days.
Via this same press release, the president of the UBB especially wanted to pay tribute to the many firefighters called upon and sent to the field to control these fires and protect the population. And to thank them, the club even made a nice gesture by offering them tickets for the club’s opening match of the season, which will be played against Stade Toulousain.
More than 1,000 Girondin firefighters, supported by reinforcements from all over France, fought day and night against these fires of unprecedented violence.
Thanks to them, no human casualties were to be deplored, and entire towns were spared the flames.
We join together to thank these exemplary men and women, and salute their courage, their dedication, their tenacity, despite the dantesque conditions of intervention.
Union Bordeaux Bègles will offer them 1,000 tickets for the opening match of the season against Stade Toulousain on Sunday September 4, 2022. A lap of honor by firefighters before kick-off will give the public the opportunity to applaud and thank them.
