It is also relatively difficult to imagine what 20,800 hectares may represent, i.e. what has been burned by fire for the moment in the sector of La Teste-de-Buch and Landiras. We have therefore prepared three maps, in Dijon, Beaune and Montbard.

Longvic, Chenôve, Quetigny, Saint-Apollinaire, Talant, Dijon… In the Dijon sector, 20,800 hectares represents a large part of the Dijon metropolis (it is 240 km²). The area burned in Gironde is moreover five times the area of Dijon, which is 40,41 km².

Part of the coast would be no more. In the Beaune country, 20,800 hectares around Beaune goes from Merceuil in the south to Pernand-Vergelesses in the north, Meloisey in the west to the limits of Meursanges in the east.

The area burned is also six and a half times the area of Beaune, which is 31,5 km².

Montbard having a size larger than that of Dijon (46,37 km² against 40.41 km²), but with a much smaller population, the area burned during the fires represents “only” four and a half times that of Montbard.

If we draw a circle, a large area from Champ-d’Oiseau in the south to Petit Jailly in the north goes up in smoke, and from Quincy-le-Vicomte in the west to Fresnes in the east. .
