On Saturday, during the celebration of Firefighter’s Day, a speech was delivered by, among others, head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, secretary general of PO Marcin Kierwiński. The politician’s speech aroused considerable interest due to the sound of his statement. The PO politician seemed to drag on and cut off his words at times.

Politicians from the right side of the political scene did not wait long. They quickly accused the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration of being under the influence of alcohol. “But this before noon? Has the minister been holding this since yesterday?” – asked the leader of New Hope, Sławomir Mentzen. “If this isn’t some sort of remake, it’s a disaster. This year, our May holiday is too long. Marcin Kierwiński and Sławomir Ćwik can’t cope with this ‘grilling’ anymore,” wrote Dariusz Matecki from PiS.
“If Marcin Kierwiński was drunk, he should be dismissed immediately today!” – said Janusz Kowalski, MP of Sovereign Poland.
“An outstanding candidate for the European Parliament. How can you not admire the president for his patience…” – emphasized PiS MP and former government spokesman Piotr Müller.
Firefighter’s Day. Marcin Kierwiński drunk during a speech? The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration denies this
After finishing his speeches, Marcin Kierwiński talked to journalists who asked the politician to comment on his speech. It is worth emphasizing that during this conversation, the voice of the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration sounded ordinary, and his pronunciation was nothing like what could be heard earlier from the loudspeakers.
Onet also talked to the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration. Kierwiński assures that he was sober. – I would have to be devoid of common sense to come under the influence of alcohol to a ceremony attended by 150 people, including the most important people in the country. It’s vile to accuse me of this, he said. – I have no idea why my voice was so distorted. Either it’s reverb or technical issues, he added.
Politicians and journalists about Marcin Kierwiński. “I am asking PiS not to judge others with its own yardstick”
Other KO politicians and some journalists defended Marcin Kierwiński. A fragment of the interview with the politician was published on the X website by, among others, MP Cezary Tomczyk. “1.5 hours after the morning speech. I am asking PiS not to judge others with its own standards. Without a sound system fault, everything is running normally,” he noted.
“If he was drunk during the ceremony, did he sober up immediately after speaking? I wouldn’t pass judgment so easily, even though it’s easiest,” noted Jacek Nizinkiewicz from “Rzeczpospolita.”
“So you’re saying that Kierwiński got sober in a dozen/several dozen minutes and that’s okay with you?” – wrote Patryk Słowik from Wp.pl.
