Moers / Mönchengladbach / Krefeld / Wesel District / Viersen District. The new firefighters for the Lower Rhine have completed part of their training to become fire supervisors – and with good results.
On Friday, March 12th, Christoph Rudolph, head of the Moers fire brigade, informed the men of their grades. You have completed your training as a paramedic. The 17 future firefighters completed a basic course, clinical internship, internship at the ambulance station and the paramedic final course in a total of around three months.
As part of an intermunicipal cooperation via the Niederrhein Fire Brigade Academy, not only Moerser were trained in the section of paramedic training at the guard in Hülsdonk. There were also participants from Mönchengladbach, Krefeld, the entire district of Wesel and Viersen. “The intermunicipal cooperation means less effort for all cities involved and, above all, a better exchange for the participants,” explains Christoph Rudolph.
In order to put out fires as a trained fire supervisor at the end of the year, a fire brigade-specific training follows. The men complete this at their own watch – in Moers there are seven fire chief candidates. The aim here is to get to know the vehicles better, to learn how to handle dangerous goods and how to use turntable ladders. In the last section, the men still await the troop leader course and the career test. Then they mastered the year and a half of training.
