Firefighters continue to fight outbreaks of fire in Córdoba – Timeshare

Volunteer firefighters from various barracks in the central provincial region continued to work during the morning of this Sunday in the fires that have been registered since Saturday in Jose de la Quintana, an area close to Alta Gracia and in Salsacate, in the west of Córdoba, where heavy forests and palm trees are burned.

In José de la Quintana, two hydrant aircraft from the Nation, two helicopters and two other aircraft from the Provincial Plan for Fire Management support from the air. In Salsacate, no aerial means were required.

While in Copina, where the fire is contained, assistance from the air is carried out by a single aircraft that works on the hot spots that are still seen in the area.

In the case of El Manzano firefighters remain stationed on the ground, although the flames were also contained.

The director of Civil Defense, Diego Concha, indicated in dialogue with Chain 3 that “the situation in Córdoba continues to be complicated mainly by meteorology”.

Concha also specified that in the Sierras Chicas, there is a fire outbreak in the “La Canchera” area, so “there are three fire crews working”.

“In Traslasierras, the fire in Salsacate is still active and there are 72 firefighters at the scene. In total, 11 people have had to be evacuated,” he explained.

Along these lines, he added: “At the moment, we cannot say how many hectares were burned because the fires are still active. In fact, we will have until Wednesday an extreme index of fire spread danger“.
