Firefighters accompany influencer Shin Fujiyama – El Sol de San Juan del Río

Members of the Heroic Fire Department of San Juan del Río accompanied the philanthropist and influencer of Japanese origin Shin Fujiyama on his visit to the San Juan district. The aforementioned character recently began a challenge that consists of walking 3 thousand kilometers, in order to raise funds for the construction of schools in different areas of Honduras.

According to information shared by the volcanoes, Shin Fujiyama was accompanied and assisted by the city’s firefighters, as well as other emergency corporations, upon entering San Juan del Río on the Mexico-Querétaro Federal Highway. It was noted that these institutions guarded his journey along Highway 57 in order to protect his safety.

“It was an honor to accompany Shin Fujiyama on his journey through San Juan del Río on his 3,000-kilometer challenge. In coordination with the Municipal Public Security Secretariat, San Juan del Río and Civil Protection SJR, we protected his journey through our municipality,” the Fire Department wrote on its official Facebook page.

For its part, the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection of San Juan del Río detailed that Shin Fujiyama took a break on the road, a moment that was used by some firefighters to take photos with the altruistic character who has thousands of followers on social networks. After the break, the runner continued his journey.

In this regard, the corporations indicated that they accompanied Shin Fujiyama to the Palmillas toll booth, where the philanthropist crossed it and entered the territory of the State of Mexico to continue his journey to Honduras and thus fulfill his challenge of walking 3 thousand kilometers.

Shin Fujiyama began his journey on Monday, July 15, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. On Saturday afternoon, news broke that the YouTuber suffered a bacterial infection in his stomach, which is why he had to be admitted to a hospital in the state of Querétaro. He was admitted 32 days after starting the challenge and traveling 956 kilometers.

“After fighting and running for 10 days with diarrhea and on top of that, last night he started vomiting, he has decided to check into a hospital in Querétaro, his diagnosis has been “bacterial infection in the stomach”, they have placed him on intravenous serum and an antibiotic to counteract the bacteria,” wrote Shin Fujiyama’s team on their social networks.

On the morning of Sunday, August 18, the runner resumed his route, leaving Pedro Escobedo and continuing on his journey to complete his 3,000-kilometer challenge.

Shin Fujiyama is a Japanese-American philanthropist. He graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2007 with a degree in International Relations and Pre-med. He is co-founder of Students Helping Honduras, which is dedicated to promoting education in Honduras. He has built 25 university campuses in Honduras and has raised $750,000 for education.
