In this forest, no flames, it is an exercise. Allier firefighters are in full training, some use the equipment, while others do math and calculate the evolution of a fire. They collect data for a very specific purpose. It is a question of taking into account all the parameters, the rate of humidity of the air, the degree of the slopes of the ground, the level of dryness of the vegetation, all these elements allow them to anticipate the advance of the flames . Firefighters are also better equipped thanks to this technological innovation. A high pressure lance, it projects ten times less water than a classic lance, more economical and above all more effective. The lance was tested in a laboratory in eastern France. In the middle of the fields, Anthony Collin, head of the “fire” scientific operation, and his teams are carrying out other research to better protect the inhabitants. For a year, they have been studying the role of vegetation in the spread of fire. The results of this research will be used to set new standards for garden design. TF1 | Reporting R. Rosso M.
