An explosion caused by firecrackers occurred in Ngabean Village, Mirit Kebumen District on Wednesday (12/5/2021) afternoon. One house was severely damaged while eight people were reported to be victims, three of whom died.
“That’s right (there was an explosion) while three people died,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Kebumen Police AKP Afiditya Arief when contacted by detik.com, Wednesday (12/5/2021) night.

Meanwhile, getting this information, Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto immediately drove to the location and the hospital. With this incident, he appealed to the public to avoid activities that harm themselves and others.
“For the injured victims were treated at Prembun Hospital, PKU Kutowinangun Hospital, and RSDS Kebumen. For this incident, we offer our condolences to the victims and their families. Previously, the Kebumen Regional Government and Polres of Kebumen destroyed around 400 kg of firecrackers,” said Arif Sugiyanto.
