Fireball is seen crossing the sky in Minnesota, USA – News

A fireball was seen crossing the sky in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, an urban area in the state of Minnesota, in the United States, at about 3am (local time) on Sunday (9). Information is from the portal Space.com.

According to the website of the American Meteor Society, residents of Minnesota and three other American states – North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin – have sent 39 reports on the phenomenon together, including six videos and a photo.

In the records, made mostly by home surveillance cameras, it is possible to visualize a bright trail followed by a sequence of blue and greenish explosions that illuminate the surroundings.

On December 16 of last year, when a fireball was seen crossing the sky in the interior of São Paulo, the technical director of Bramon (Brazilian Meteor Monitoring Network), Marcelo Zurita, explained to the R7 what defines a fireball.

Also called “fireballs”, they are meteors that end explosively, or even those that are brighter than the planet Venus, one of the brightest stars in the Solar System.
