Until August 31, 2023, fire victims can submit their applications for assistance
Extension for the submission of first aid applications for them affected by the fires of this July the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announced yesterday.
In particular, the submission of applications of first aid for those affected by fires of July 2023, until August 31, 2023in order to provide sufficient time to those affected to submit their applications.
At the same time, regarding first aid against housing assistancethe milestone date by which the property figures were taken into account is amended to August 14, 2023, in order to also take into account recent changes in property figures for affected building owners.
It is reminded that the application is submitted through electronic platform arogi.gov.gr, which operates with the input of the Independent Public Revenue Authority. Applications may be submitted by:
* for first aid against a grant, businesses and non-profit organizations, affected by the fires of July 2023 and
* for first aid against housing assistance, property owners affected by the July 2023 fires.
It is clarified that for the granting of first aid against a grant, it will prior cross-checking of the application details with the data submitted to the relevant Region for damage assessment and recording by the state aid committees. Accordingly, for the granting of first aid against housing, the data of the applications will be preceded by cross-checking with the data of the re-inspection reports and the autopsy reports of the competent services of the general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid, for the characterization of the buildings.
At the same time, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in its announcement, underlines that the amount of first aid against a grant received by each business, offset against the final grant amount, as this will be determined by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, after the damage has been recorded by the state aid committees of the Region. Accordingly, the amount of the first aid for housing received by each owner is offset against the amount of the final housing assistance, as this will be determined by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection with a relevant decision on the delimitation and granting of housing assistance.
It should be noted that, both for the first aid against housing assistance, and for the first aid against a grant, in the event that the recipient of the aid submits false statement or does not submit a relevant file to the competent services, or is not finally deemed a beneficiary, or the amount to which he is entitled is less, the return of the total amount or the excess amount to the Greek State is foreseen.
