Fire up the web! What happened to Steve Jobs’ yacht? – 2024-08-08 08:57:24

A short video showing the collision of two luxury yachts became extremely popular on social networks.

On the recording you can hear the outraged voices of people who are on one vessel and watch the advance of the second towards them. The blow is light, but according to experts, even such injuries are extremely expensive.

The yacht Venus slowly rams into Lady Moura’s stern. Cries of “Heyyy” are heard, followed by an exasperated moan of “Nooooo”.

“You won’t believe it, but our yacht was hit while we were anchoring off Naples – and by the yacht of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. It is now owned by his wife Loreen,” Mexican Ricardo Salinas, owner of the stricken yacht, commented on Instagram.

“I’d like to know what the captain and crew were doing and how they didn’t see a yacht the size of mine ahead of them. The good thing is that it’s nothing more than a scratch, but it’s a big scratch that will cost a lot to fix,” he added.

“I show you the video to make sure that there is no shortage of asses in the world and to understand how important it is that the commands come from a responsible and attentive captain,” commented Ricardo Salinas.

“Even small repairs on these luxury yachts are really expensive. Fortunately, boat owners have several billion dollars in the bank,” commented the German publication “Bild”.

According to expert estimates, the total price of the two yachts is 265 million dollars.

The battered Lady Moura cost $140 million, and Steve Jobs’ yacht, the Venus, $125 million.

The incident happened on July 22 off the coast of Italy, writes bTV.

The 105-meter Lady Moura is owned by the 68-year-old Mexican Ricardo Salinas, whose fortune is estimated at about ten billion dollars. He has made his career in the telecommunications industry.

Venus once belonged to Apple genius Steve Jobs. And now his widow, Loreen Powell Jobs, sails the world’s oceans with the 78-meter yacht.

The Boat International portal quotes a statement from Ricardo Salinas.

“Both yachts were anchored off Naples. Venus was on a chain – twice as long as expected given the depth of the water. Suddenly, the wind suddenly increased to about 100 kilometers per hour and pushed Venus into Lady Moura.

Steve Jobs’ family was not on board at the time of the collision.
