Fire Risk: Var and Alpes-Maritimes Massifs Closed on July 20 | Access Prohibited All Day

Five massifs in the Var and one massif in the Alpes-Maritimes are closing this Thursday, July 20 due to the high risk of fire. The Var prefecture has classified four other massifs in severe risk.

The Var prefecture has just announced that the Monts Toulonnais, Corniche des Maures, Maures du Centre-Var and Esterel massifs (in red on the map) are at high risk of fire this Thursday, July 20 . Access, traffic and presence in the massif will therefore be prohibited all day tomorrow.

Esterel-Tanneron massifs

The same rules in the Esterel-Tanneron massifs in the Alpes-Maritimes, where the very severe risk has also been decreed.

In the Var, the massifs of the Iles d’Hyères, Sainte-Baume, Haut-Var and Plateau de Canjuers are placed at severe risk. Their access is therefore not recommended.

An interactive map allowing geolocation is published each day at 7 p.m. for the following day. It allows to know in real time the regulations and the access rules of all the massifs of the Var.
