On Monday evening, a fire raged in a shed with electric bicycles at the Land van Bartje holiday park in Ees.
The fire brigade, which was alerted shortly after 9:30 p.m., gave the signal to fire after more than an hour. “In any case, batteries of electric bicycles have burned. But luckily we were able to save some bicycles,” says spokesman Marc Meijs of the Drenthe Safety Region.
The approximately 40 by 20 meter shed has also suffered damage. The fire, which had spread, did not spread to adjacent holiday homes. Meijs: “As a precaution, some of those homes have been evacuated.”
The fire brigades of Borger, 1e Exloërmond and Schoonoord rushed to Ees to extinguish the raging fire. Their exploits were watched by many people – holidaymakers.
