A fire broke out in a building on De Ruijterkade in the center around 9.20 pm. A large number of fire trucks were assembled.

The fire was on the tenth floor. Two ambulances were also called, but that was only as a precaution. No one was injured, according to the fire service.
The fire turned out to be caused by a copier. Firefighters said the floor was full of smoke and visibility was poor. Because it was not clear at first exactly where the fire was, it was scaled up extensively.
The fire has now been extinguished. The property is currently being ventilated.
