A fire broke out on the roof of a house in the Santa Croce district, around 6pm on Wednesday, in the area of the Trattoria Al Nono risen restaurant in the historic center of Venice. Flames from the windows on the fourth floor of the building and a column of smoke that was almost immediately visible at a great distance from the place of the incident. On site, two fire brigade boats with the teams engaged in extinguishing the fire: not an easy operation at that height due to the difficulty of getting pumps, cylinders and equipment to secure any part close to the attic. The damage at first glance is enormous but no one appears to have been involved.
The flames broke out in calle Regina, at number 2335, not far from Rialto. All the checks are in progress to clarify the causes of the event: if a malfunction or a short circuit from an appliance or from a socket. Numerous calls to 115. The firefighters advised the residents of the buildings in the area to leave the house if possible, while the one affected by the fire and smoke was evacuated, for the time necessary to restore the building safely. At around 7 pm the fire was under control. No one inside: a woman who was in the burned house came out of herself just after the first flames appeared, sounding the alarm.
