Fire on New York Subway Track in Brooklyn on Christmas Eve Sends Four to Hospital

Four people were taken to the hospital after a fire started on a New York Subway track in Brooklyn on Christmas Eve.

FDNY firefighters were called shortly before 6:30 pm on Sunday, December 24 to the report of a fire on a train on the A and C lines in the High Street station in Brooklyn Heights.

Passengers evacuated the station due to contaminated air. CBS News disclosed a video of the scene between users leaving and firefighters entering surrounded by smoke.

According to the police The flames started because a suitcase was on the tracks when the train arrived at the station, it overturned and caught fire. The emergency was controlled in just over an hour, according to Daily News.

In April, a man opened fire on MTA workers after arguing with them over not paying fare on a bus.

At the end of 2020, a man with an extensive criminal record was arrested as a suspect nine months after causing the fire on the New York Subway that killed an MTA driver and injured more than a dozen people.
