NEW YORK – A fire with 2 alarms in a five-story building in the Bronx on Sunday injured four people, including a mother and her daughter, New York City firefighters said.
The fire occurred around 10:45 am on the fifth floor of the building located in 1316 from Morris Avenue, officials noted. A total of 106 firefighters and 25 units were on site and managed to control the incident almost an hour later.
In total, four people were injured: a mother and her daughter with serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. On the spot, however, another civilian and a firefighter who were treated for minor injuries.
Details of the victims’ ages and identities were not disclosed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
