Today was the coldest day this fall, with temperatures dropping across the country and the first snow falling in Busan as well.
There were a series of fire accidents amid the sudden cold, including the death of a man in his 70s from a fire that started in an electric blanket.
Additionally, traffic accidents occurred one after another on frozen roads.

One wall of the hospital is completely charred, and smoke is billowing out of the cracks.

Around 8 a.m. today, a fire broke out in a six-story hospital in Wonpyeong-dong, Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk, and 94 people, including patients and staff, were evacuated.

Almost half of the 41 people were taken to another hospital due to smoke inhalation, and the fire was extinguished only after 3 and a half hours.
Police and fire departments believe the fire started in the parking lot behind the hospital and spread through the exterior wall, and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.

Black smoke spread over the apartment rooftop, and the inside of the house was so black that its original appearance was unrecognizable.
At approximately 9:40 am today, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 8th floor in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The fire was extinguished in about 40 minutes, but a man in his 70s who lived in the house died.
The man reported to 119 that “the electric blanket caught fire,” and that “it is difficult to evacuate due to difficulty moving,” but it was found that he was unable to leave the scene and suffered an accident.

As the snow that fell overnight froze, traffic accidents occurred one after another in various places.
At around 5:30 a.m., a dump truck that was following hit a passenger car that was driving slowly due to icy conditions on the Sinduwang Intersection overpass in Nam-gu, Ulsan, resulting in a series of 11-vehicle collisions, injuring two people.
At the same time, a 15-vehicle collision occurred at Pyeongchon Bridge in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, when cars skidded on an icy road.
