The fire brigade turned out tonight to a fire in a chimney in an apartment building on the Burgemeester Cramergracht in Nieuw-West. After nearly two hours of work, the fire brigade put out the fire.

According to the fire service, the fire was located exactly between the ceiling and the roof of the building, so it had to be demolished before the fire could be extinguished. The house was evacuated and a neighbor’s house was also evacuated just to be safe.
The damage to the house where the fire started is very extensive, the residents have not yet been able to return to their homes. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
