(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 06 – A fire broke out in recent hours in the Beccaria juvenile prison without any injuries. According to what was reported by the firefighters, the flames came from a cell on the second floor and the smoke involved three others, also on the second floor. The fire was put out and no one was involved. It took the firefighters about three hours to get to grips with the flames, the causes of which are under investigation. The fire broke out around 2am and some of the inmates were taken out of the building for safety reasons. The four teams of police finished their work around 5am. The Beccaria prison in Milan has long been at the center of attention for abuses against inmates for which an investigation was opened which also saw the arrests of police officers. Penitentiary Police while Christmas 2022 was the scene of a daring escape during which seven escaped, all returned or captured. (HANDLE).
