Fire in Rennes. A body found, the criminal track considered

The body of a man half burned and showing signs of violence was found on the night of Thursday 17 to Friday 18 September at Rennes.

“Following the intervention of firefighters called for a fire apartment around 1:20 am, the body of a deceased man was discovered ”, indicated the prosecutor of the Republic of Rennes, Philippe Astruc. The apartment is located near the Rennes University Hospital, in the west of the city.

Traces of lacerations

“Suspicious elements having been noted, an investigation was entrusted to the Interregional Direction of the judicial police of Rennes in order to establish the precise circumstances of the death of this person”, added the prosecutor.

From a police source, “The body, which could be that of the tenant of the apartment, presented violence and traces of lacerations”.
