Fire in Offenbach: one resident injured – apartment destroyed

In Offenbach in the Bürgel district, an apartment in an apartment building catches fire. The resident must be rescued by the fire brigade.

Offenbach – A fire broke out in an apartment in a multi-storey house in Brügel in Offenbach. On Friday (09/10/2021) at around 5:51 p.m., the Offenbach professional fire brigade received several emergency calls from residents who reported the fire on the top floor of the apartment building. They also stated that there was a person in the affected apartment.

The Offenbach professional fire brigade immediately moved in with a fire engine, a turntable ladder from Mühlheim and two other vehicles from the Rumpenheim and Waldheim volunteer fire brigades. In addition, three ambulances and one ambulance vehicle were alerted.

On site, the resident was first evacuated from the fifth floor using a turntable ladder. Despite the quick response, the 33-year-old man suffered smoke inhalation and had to be transported to a clinic by the emergency doctor. All other residents of the apartment building in Brügel in Offenbach were able to escape in time via the stairwell so that no one else was injured.

Fire in Darmstadt: The cause of the fire has not yet been clarified

The fire was already extinguished at 6:20 p.m. The uppermost apartment in the house was destroyed by the fire – it is no longer habitable. After exposure to carbon monoxide was ruled out by the fire brigade, all other residents were allowed to return to their apartments. During the entire operation, Rumpenheimer Strasse had to be completely closed until 7 p.m. The cause of the fire has not yet been clarified. (tt)
