It was early Thursday morning that the neighbor of a farm in Nes in Viken contacted the police about a fire. Emergency services rushed to the scene and found a dead man in his 40s in the fire ruins.
The discovery is now being investigated as a suspicious death. The police were notified of the fire at 05:00, and just before 8 o’clock they announced that the fire brigade had control of the fire.
– Investigation is ongoing, so it is limited how much we spend at the moment. Two buildings have burned down, and there are unclear circumstances surrounding the death, police lawyer Behreng Mirzaei told Dagbladet.
The deceased was sent for autopsy on Thursday morning to determine the cause of death. The man is not known to the police from before, and according to Dagbladet’s information has not previously been convicted.
– We are working to find out if the deceased has been exposed to anything criminal. No one has been charged or arrested in the case so far, Mirzaei said.
For the time being, the police will not comment on whether the deceased is known to them from before. Relatives have been notified of the death, but the police attorney does not want to say whether the deceased is connected to the farm in question where the fire took place.
