Fire in Manhattan building leaves 2 injured

Around 1:00 p.m. Sunday, a sudden fire broke out in an apartment building located at St. James Place and Madison Avenue in Manhattan.

The flames reached the 17th floor of the skyscraper, leaving two people injured.

Minutes later, the New York Fire Department (FDNY) responded to put out the fire, which continued to grow while they fought it. Shortly after, manage to turn it off.

The reasons that caused the fire in a Manhattan building are unknown

A team of paramedics also arrived at the scene to attend to the two people who were injured.

So far, the FDNY has not been able to determine what caused the fire. Recently, this type of accident has occurred due to electric bicycle batteries.

Fire investigation experts attributed the incident to the battery of an electric bicycle, being the third that caused this type of device, since the beginning of 2023.
