Fire in Leipzig Ferris wheel, dozens injured

At least thirty people were injured in a fire on a Ferris wheel in Leipzig. Two of them were seriously injured, the rest were slightly injured by the smoke, according to the police in the German city.

Two Ferris wheel gondolas caught fire in the middle of the afternoon. All occupants were able to remove themselves from the Ferris wheel before both gondolas burned completely. The fire brigade tells German media that the situation is under control.

There was a Ferris wheel on a festival site. The festival was stopped for a short time because of the fire. After announcing that all the passengers had been rescued, the festival resumed.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
