Fire in Chinatown leaves two dead and several injured

A fire this morning in a 6-story building in Manhattan left two people dead, and at least four injured including three firefighters.

The emergency was reported shortly before 4 a.m. at 78 Mulberry Street in Chinatown.

Preliminary reports indicated that the fire started on the fifth floor, which quickly spread to the upper floor.

More than 100 firefighters aboard 25 units responded to the scene.

The causes of the crash remain under investigation.
