A fire that started after 6 pm on Thursday and mobilized seven aerial means and more than 250 firefighters in the municipality of Cascais, is already in the aftermath phase, according to the Lisbon CDOS at Observer Radio. On the ground, more than 200 operatives remain in the aftermath so that there are no re-fires.

At a press conference at about 10 pm, Mayor Carlos Carreiras confirmed that “eight houses were uninhabitable” and minor injuries to a fireman and a civilian, who did not need hospital assistance.

“The fire started in a bush area close to the Alvide school and, at this moment, it comes through Ribeira das Vinhas, but the means are all set in motion. There are several aerial means, in force, with more than three dozen vehicles on the ground to fight the fire and now it is the part of fire fighting that is not yet controlled ”, said the Mayor of Cascais, Radio Observador Careers, around 7 pm.

The fire that broke out with “strong intensity” ended up giving way to the efforts of heavy media on site and operational ones, mobilized in large numbers.
