Fire in care home in Rogaland – VG


Around half past one on Sunday night, the fire service states that they have control of the fire in a block of flats in Randaberg in Rogaland.

The fire brigade has verified that there were no people inside the apartment that burned, and that they have extinguished the flames they can see.

According to the police, there are a dozen people living in the block, who have now all been evacuated for the night.

– Three elderly residents were taken to a nursing home, two arranged accommodation on their own and five people spent the night at Viste Strandhotell by agreement with the municipality, they say.

No one should be injured.

Fire on the 2nd floor

The police in the South-West reported at 23.40 that they had received a report of a building fire in Ranaberg municipality.

It is a care home.

They state that there was a fire in an apartment on the 2nd floor. The fire brigade and the police on the spot also searched the rest of the block.

– We currently have no idea about the cause of the fire. It is up to the police to investigate, says Tor Magne Auestad, duty manager at Rogaland fire and rescue.

They are on guard duty at the homes throughout the night.
