A fire broke out in a butcher’s shop on Krugerstraat in Oost around 8:30 PM. A cat inhaled so much smoke that the animal was in very bad shape, according to a fire brigade spokesperson.
The fire released a lot of smoke. Three people therefore had to be checked by ambulance personnel, but did not have to be taken to hospital.
According to the fire brigade, a cat is in worse shape. The animal suffered smoke poisoning and was urgently given oxygen by the ambulance staff. After the arrival of the animal ambulance, care was transferred.
The fire is now under control again, but the cause is still unknown.
