SYRIZA issued a statement regarding the aerial vehicles that attempted to extinguish the devastating fire in Eastern Attica, launching an attack against the government.
The announcement in detail:
“The Mitsotakis government is once again trying to hide the truth from the Greek people, after a disaster for which it bears full responsibility.
From the first moment, the competent authorities have systematically misinformed the public about the aerial means that attempted the fire that destroyed the entire northeastern Attica.
In the same pattern, the lascivious minister V. Kikilias continues to mislead the citizens, as well as those affected by the controversial issue.
Because lies have short legs, we are forced to stick to the obvious:
- We ask the National Coordination Center for Operations and Crisis Management (ESKEDIK/PS) to provide the telematics data of all aerial vehicles that operated in Attica from Sunday, August 11 until today.
- We are requesting a copy of the “Engage” Information System regarding air and ground assets.
- We request a copy of the Minutes of the Civil Protection Coordinating Body meeting of August 12.
We stand by the side of all the firefighters who, from the first moment, threw themselves into the battle with self-sacrifice, having to face the lack of preparation and planning, for which the Mitsotakis government is fully responsible.
No more jokes, evasions and communication tricks. Citizens – and especially those who saw their property lost – have a right to know the whole truth now.”
