This Monday morning (12th) there was a fire in the ground floor apartment of an apartment building on the Smetanaweg in Darmstadt-Wixhausen.
The relief control center was alerted at around 10:00. The police and firefighters went out together. Firefighters quickly put out the fire.
The homeowner, 80, was taken to hospital as a precaution. All other residents of the house were unharmed. The amount of material damage is not yet known. Darmstadt police have begun investigating the cause of the fire.
