Fire in an Artix company: 35 people unemployed

Saturday August 22, around 5.15 p.m., a fire broke out in a building of the P2A reinforced concrete prefabricated company in Eurolacq, in Artix, and threatened a storage place for acetylene cylinders.

The gas becoming highly unstable in contact with heat, a security perimeter of 500 meters was established by the police. This device impacted the Pau-Orthez railway line, the RD817 and the Artix toll of the A64. Everything was cut during the intervention.

Accidental loss

The sixty firefighters mobilized on the incident managed to preserve the production unit, any risk of explosion was quickly ruled out. At around 7 p.m. the road, train and highway were open again.

The fire devastated the administrative premises and the archives over a total area of ​​300 m². The industrial site was closed at the time of the fire, no casualties are to be deplored. The fire is said to be of accidental origin.

Pending the restart of the production unit, the 35 P2A employees were placed on technical unemployment.
