Fire in a retirement community – Telemundo Phoenix / Tucson

GREEN VALLEY, Arizona – The Green Valley Fire District is fighting a two-alarm fire at a campus maintenance building in a Green Valley retirement community Monday night.

According to the district, the fire has spread entirely in the maintenance building on the La Posada campus, near Whitehouse Canyon Road and Old Nogales Highway.

Firefighters reported that there are “active explosions” due to combustible materials inside the building.

The district said there are five locomotives at the fire site along with two medics and a battalion chief.

Officials stated that at the moment none of the residents have been affected nor have they evacuated.

They offer better incentives to compete and attract staff that allow them to continue operating

To fight the fire, the Green Valley District requested support from the Drexel Heights Fire Department to cover the area while they put out the fire.

At the moment, the cause of the fire has not been determined, and information about it is still very limited.

This is information in development.
