The fire in the older wooden house on two floors was reported at 02.27. The house is located in Sandsvegen on Berger in the far south of the new Drammen municipality.
– The situation now is that the fire service is engaged in post-extinguishing. The police are working to notify the family of the four who lived in the house. The people are not made up for. We have tried to get in touch with them, but we have not succeeded, says operations manager Jan Kristian Johnsrud, operations manager in Søraust police district to NRK at 06.30.
Follow the police in Søraust there were reports of flames coming out of windows on the ground floor. The fire was particularly powerful.
The first in town were local volunteer firefighters. Before firefighters and smoke divers from Drammen arrived, it was not possible to enter the house.
– There was a heavy fire that made it impossible for smoke divers to enter the house. The job further now is that we must try to determine if it has our people inside the house, says Jondsrud.

The closest relatives of the residents have been notified of the fire, and crisis teams in Drammen municipality have been notified, the police report at 5.15.
