There was a severe fire in seven garages in Sundbyfoss in Holmestrand municipality.
According to the fire service, there were five cars inside the garages, which belong to a condominium.
There was no risk of spread, but nearby residents were evacuated due to smoke on the site.
Just after midnight, the fire should be extinguished.
– Nearest neighbors who were evacuated can now move back in. There is a lot of smoke in the area, everyone is asked to close windows, the police say.
The fire was first reported at 10.38pm.
There is extensive damage to the garage.
– The building with a storeroom and 7 garages with 5 cars was completely damaged in the fire. The roof has collapsed, says acting fire chief Jarle Steinnes.
The fire brigade will provide extinguishing for large parts of the night.
Fire crews from våde Vestfold intermunicipal fire service and station Hvittingfoss associated with Kongsberg fire and rescue were active in the extinguishing work.
No injuries have been reported.
