This Thursday morning, the firefighters were called around 10:40 a.m. in the middle of the morning in Saint-André-les-Vergers, rue Notre-Dame-des-Prés, at the intersection of rue Paul Doumer.
A fire broke out in the premises of the company “Tolede”, which specializes in computer software. When firefighters arrived, the fire was already covering the entire roof. Significant stripping was carried out to reach all the fire points (stripping and dismantling of partitions).
The particular difficulty of this fire: its “smoldering” character. ” We don’t necessarily see it, it slips through the partitions, the roof, it can go down again in the walls, we run after it by means of gaps and stripping “, explains Lieutenant Milcent, group leader of the Troyes conurbation.
No injuries
The building, with a surface area of 300m², was evacuated. The five people who occupied it were able to get out unscathed.
The company’s computer equipment was also taken to safety by the firefighters, at the manager’s request. In contrast, the roof of the building was completely destroyed by the flames.
18 firefighters are mobilized. Traffic is disrupted in the area.
