Fire Destroys Home of The Varsity Restaurant Chain Family in Roswell, Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga. (Telemundo Atlanta) – The family that owns the iconic restaurant chain The Varsity was able to escape a fire that destroyed their home in Roswell.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Tuesday, firefighters reported, who were alerted by neighbors that the house, located on Prado Terrace, in the Lakeside at Ansley community, was on fire.

“Neighbors called after they saw smoke coming from the back of the house. Our first unit arrived in just six minutes,” said Chad Miller, Roswell Fire Department Public Information Officer.

The nine people who were inside the residence were able to escape unharmed.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our family home. Fortunately, our entire family made it out of the fire. We greatly appreciate everyone’s concern at this very difficult time,” Gordon Muir, president of The Varsity, said in a statement to the press.
