A fire on Sunday night in Hüntwangen ZH largely destroyed an apartment building. There was property damage of several hundred thousand francs. Several residents had to be evacuated. But nobody was injured.
The operations center of Schutz & Rettung Zürich was alerted at 12:42 a.m., according to a message from the Zurich canton police. A fire was reported in an apartment building.
When the emergency services arrived, eight residents, including two small children, were evacuated from the apartment building as well as from a neighboring property. All evacuees were uninjured. The fire brigade brought the fire under control and finally put it out.
The residents of the apartment building affected by the fire had to be accommodated with relatives and friends, as it is said. The residents of the neighboring property could have returned to their apartments after the fire service. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire investigation service of the Zurich cantonal police.
